Keeping things moving when equipment is down

When a vehicle or piece of equipment breaks down, the impact can extend well beyond the repair itself. Your people may be unable to work, jobs can be delayed, and the longer equipment is unavailable, the greater the disruption to your business.

At EPV, we work with the specialist vehicles and equipment businesses rely on every day,
including trucks, winches, trailers, vehicle loading cranes, crane borers, plant and equipment, and truck-mounted insulated elevating work platforms (EWPs). We understand how important it is to get that equipment back into service as efficiently as possible.

Meet Diane, Field Service Co-ordinator

Diane is one of the people working behind the scenes to make that happen.

As Field Service Co-ordinator, Diane is the link between customers and EPV’s field service mechanics. Planning scheduled routine servicing and maintenance to ensure fleets remain compliant with minimal impact to operations and when a breakdown occurs, she helps understand what’s needed, coordinates with the mechanic and keeps communication flowing with the customer.

For Diane, it’s the customer contact she enjoys most.

“I love being in the forefront of customer service, getting in there with the customers, the mechanics, solving the problem. There are some coordinators that like the back of house maintenance planning and scheduling, I love the fast-paced service coordination and problem solving.”

It’s a role that can involve anything from routine maintenance planning, solving a relatively minor issue, to equipment that has become completely non-operational and must be repaired immediately.

Keeping downtime to a minimum

When a vehicle or equipment is down, you don’t want to spend your time chasing updates or working out who needs to be contacted.

Having someone who understands the situation, communicates with the mechanic and keeps the process moving can take a lot of that pressure away.

For Diane, that’s the part of the job she values most, being involved, solving problems and helping customers get back to work.

Because your equipment has places to be and jobs to do.
