For 34 years EPV Specialty Service Centre has provided support and solutions to Australia’s Energy Network owners and the operators and contractors maintaining the network, working with them to understand and solve practical challenges faced by workers in the field.

An example is the EPV Insulated Jib and Cross Arm Bracket.

The challenge was to provide a solution to remove the need for cumbersome slings and reduce the working envelope when changing gas switches suspended from a cross arm.

EPV’s solution was to develop a cross-arm bracket and insulated jib attachment.

The EPV cross-arm bracket eliminates the need for slings and reduces the working envelope to a mere 291mm. The EPV cross-arm bracket has been vigorously tested and proven in field trials, and feedback from operators has been extremely positive. The 3120mm long EPV Insulated Jib offers a 1554mm insulation gap between the EPV crane adaptor bracket and insulated jib lift eye, 300kg WLL and 66kV insulation rating.

Throughout the development and engineering process for the Insulated Jib and Cross Arm Bracket, EPV engaged with industry experts, independent engineers, the Live Line Committee and VESI to ensure the jib is compliant to all applicable Australian Standards and work practices.

EPV has a close working relationship with all crane and EWP manufactures and can provide technical and engineering support to ensure every EPV Insulated Jib is tailored to the specific crane make, model and configuration.

We know that Operator safety is paramount, so load charts, operator manuals, controls and safety systems are carefully considered as part of each installation.
